The Acts 1:8 Challenge
Missions is a priority focus at Harvard Avenue.  We believe that Scripture mandates a challenge to the local church in Acts 1:8, "but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."  This passage motivates our body to be missions-active by passionately sending missionaries to the field and by joyfully being sent to our community, nation, and the world with the Gospel.
The Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention:  Through the Southern Baptist Convention we are involved in sending over 10,000 missionaries to Arkansas, North America, and the World. Vist and to learn more about Southern Baptist Missions.

Independent Missionary Partnerships:  Harvard also has a strong commitment to sending and supporting missionaries through vital independent mission organizations. We currently support several independant missionaries working in bible translation, church planting, and evangelism.
  • Phil & Gale Fields - Bible Translators to Indonesia
  • Peter & Sharon McMillan - Missionaries to Spain
  • Joe & Donna Rider - Missionaries to Cameroon
  • Beka Ruiz - Missionary to Vietnam
SBC Missionary Partnerships:
  • Ridgeline Community Church - Metro Philadelphia (church planting partnership)
  • Israeli Arab Muslims - Israel (unreached people group)
  • Hispanic Church - Siloam Springs
